Kindergarten
Calvary Kindergarten is a DE (Department for Education) affiliate kindergarten. Children are entitled to 12 months of kindergarten (preschool), consisting of five sessions per fortnight for four terms. Children must be four years of age before May 1st each year before starting full preschool sessions. There are variations to this policy where determining factors need to be considered such as additional needs, formally assessed gifted children, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander children and children under the guardianship of the Minister.
If your child has needs or you have concerns in regards to their development and how this impacts on their preschool or school readiness please see the Director. Your child is not legally required to start school until age six.

Transition Sessions
As an introduction to Calvary Kindergarten, transition sessions are offered in Term 4 of the year prior to starting full-time kindergarten. The formal enrolment process begins in June of the year prior to entry.
We encourage families to add their name to our list of prospective enrolments as early as possible, as there is a high demand for places.

Lunch
Children are required to bring a healthy, packed lunch to kindy. Guidelines for creating a healthy lunch box are included in the Parent Handbook. Click Here to view online.
Playgroup
Calvary Kindergarten hosts playgroup for children from birth to five years of age, and their families and friends.
Playgroup is run by a qualified co-ordinator, utilising
kindergarten equipment and resources and the active support of kindergarten
staff. Playgroup is a great opportunity for families to familiarise themselves
with the Kindergarten's facilities and make new and lasting friendships.
Many activities involving indoor & outdoor play are available each week.

Playgroup is help from 9-10:30am on most Fridays during school terms. Please bring a gold coin donation, piece of fruit to share and a hat for outdoor play.
