Director’s Message

Welcome to Calvary Kindergarten! We acknowledge that we live and learn in the traditional Country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains and pay respect to Elders past and present. We are a Lutheran early childhood service that is passionate about working closely with families and helping each child grow and develop to their maximum potential.

We believe that strong and secure relationships are the foundation to successful learning at all ages and as such have developed a social emotional learning programme that supports children to develop the skills to confidently initiate play and cooperate with others.

Our highly trained staff love what they do and regularly engage in a range of professional learning activities. They enjoy incorporating new learning into daily practice to ensure that our programme continues to be current, vibrant and responsive to the changing needs of our children and families.

Our work is influenced by pedagogies such as Marte Meo Supportive Communication, the Circle of Security, Restorative Practices, the Pyramid Model of Supporting Social-Emotional Competence, Playspaces, Hanen Programs and the Reggio Emilia Educational Project.

We are also currently exploring new initiatives such as Bush Kindy and an intergenerational program.
